Overview
Relieve eye strain with EyeLong
Eyelong is an app service that allows people to reduce eye strain through simple eye exercises and habits. People can do activities for their eyes at a regular time every day and get weekly tracking data on what they have done.
Problem
People are suffering from eye
strain due to the increased use of
digital devices
Many people complain about dry eyes and vision loss. This is
because they have been using digital devices such as
smartphones and computers for a long time. But they tend to
neglect their eye health because eyes are not as fatal as other
organs.

Factors that can affect your eye
health
If your eyes get tired continuously, it's easy to feel dry. This can
be exacerbated by 'bad eye habits'. That's why I offer an eye
exercise service. This can help you break bad habits that can
damage your eye health and further reduce eye fatigue.

Design Challenge
Help people get into the habit of doing short eye exercises and keep track
of how they're doing.
Design Process
My approach
I identified users who really wanted to use EyeLong and defined their problems. As I came up with solutions to the problems, I thought
about what kind of atmosphere would be needed to meet the users' needs.

Discover / Secondary research
The need for eye care is growing but people aren't doing it
With more and more people complaining of dry eyes due to the increased use of digital devices, people began to recognize the need for
eye health. However, despite knowing the importance of eye health care, they were still not doing anything for their eyes.

Discover / Primary research
Interviews
I conducted in-depth interviews with three people who user digital devices and experience eye discomfort.
People who feel uncomfortable with poor eye
health but don't often do eye exercises
because they're not fatal.
The people I interviewed used computers and smartphones to
some extent. As a result, they said they felt enough
discomfort, such as dry eyes, that they took care of their eyes
from time to time. However, despite these discomforts, they
said they did not do eye exercises often because they were
not fatal.

Define / Persona
Workers who constantly use digital devices in their daily lives and experience dry eyes
After conducting desk research and interviews, I discussed the group that most needed eye exercise but was not accustomed to it, and as a result, I created persona as above.

Define
User journey map
Based on the desk research, I mapped the day of target users(persona). As shown in the map, users were using digital devices for a
significant amount of the day, which can result in a less than ideal number of blinks per day. This can cause severe eye strain.

As a result, I found that users were using digital devices without a break, and set the service concept as "eye exercise that can be done every day".
.
Develop
Solution Ideation
I proposed four functions according to the service concept of eye exercise that can be done every day. Through this app, users can
continue to exercise their eyes and improve their habits without forgetting to do it and see how good they are.

Develop
Information Architecture
I organized the overall flow with the information architecture as below, thinking about how to deliver the 4 main features to users.

Develop
Wireframe
I drew several wireframes based on the IA to guide the user in the intended direction, focusing on ease of access to the eye-exercise page
while providing relevant information.

Deliever
Usability test
I conducted a usability test to improve the usability of the service with the first wireframe and found the following improvements, which I incorporated into the final design.

Deliever
BX Concept
I derived the concept "My dry eyes go on a journey to an oasis" and accordingly chose "desert" and "eyeball" as metaphors.
